One horror story I hear too often is that they took their computer somewhere to get a virus removed or to
 
get some other service performed and the service company decided to wipe their computer and re-

install Windows.

This means they lost all of their data and settings. Wiping and re-installing a computer is ALWAYS a

last resort, it’s the easy way out and should never be performed without backing up your PC first.

My advice is to stay away from the big PC service chains or some kid that really has no idea …their

goal is to get your PC in and out in the least amount of man hours so they can make the most profit.

Too many times their resolution to a problem is to wipe and reload the PC.
