Insurance - What are you wanting Price or Coverage?
That is the question every agent should ask and every buyer should know when looking for insurance. Many times we see people come in and we discuss their insurance coverage - only to find they bought a policy for less price with less coverage. There are thousands of the same autos on the road - only in different colors. Comparing auto insurance with the same coverages is not that hard - if its apples & apples. Your home ( unless it is a tract home ) is unique. Did your agent actually look at your home - did they walk around and inspect your home or did they throw out some nice numbers. Every company offers different coverages in their home policy. Yes the coverage for the home may be close of the same but the internal coverages can be drastically different. Save yourself a lot of aggravation - seek out an Independent Agent - one with many companies. Spend some time ask some questions. Most homeowners policies cover what is usual and customary to the average homeowner up and down the street. If you have an item or items that are something nobody else has (antiques, Guns, collections) there is usually limited or no coverage. Do not be the square peg forced into a round hole. Just a thought for the savy insurance buyer.
