Addl Insureds/Governmental Subdivisons (CG2409)
This endorsement is used to change the nomenclature of the "Who Is Insured" provision of your General Liability policy to conform more closely to the needs of a governmental entity. It also clarifies that land motor vehicles designed for travel on public roads and owned or leased by the entity are considered to be mobile equipment if they are used exclusively on streets and highways owned by the entity, thus eliminating the need for separate auto insurance. Back to top
Addl Insureds/Joint Ventures
This endorsement is used to extend your General Liability policy to include automatic protection for claims arising out of a joint venture. This is needed since your policy covers joint ventures as insureds only if designated in the policy's declarations. Newly acquired or formed joint ventures are not automatically covered unless this endorsement is used. Back to top
Addl Insureds/Members (CG2002)
This endorsement is used to extend your General Liability policy to include coverage for members of your organization, but only with respects to activities they perform on behalf of your organization. Back to top
Addl Insureds/Owners, Lessees or Contractors - Form A (CG2009)
This endorsement is used to extend your General Liability policy to include coverage for those additional insureds named in the form. Alienated Premises Excl Modified
This endorsement is used to modify the General Liability policy by
eliminating the exclusion for property damage to premises occupied,
rented or held for rental by you prior to a project being sold. This
is important for contractors involved in turnkey operations on a
speculative basis when a structure is completed and some portion of
it is rented before it is sold to a developer or investor.Back to top
Amended Aggregate Limits - Per Location (CG2504)
This endorsement is used to amend your General Liability policy's
general aggregate limit so that it will apply separately for each
owned or rented location. Please note, this endorsement does not
modify the application of your completed operations aggregate limit. Back to top
Amended Aggregate Limits - Per Project (CG2503)
This endorsement is used to amend your General Liability policy's
general aggregate limit so that it will apply separately to each
scheduled project located away from owned or rented premises. Please
note that only the general aggregate limit is affected and that
standard policy completed-operations limits still apply. Back to top
Amendment of Limits For Designated Projects (CG2501)
This endorsement is used to provide different limits of coverage for
those projects scheduled on the form. Note, these modified limits do
not increase your CGL policy's primary limits for any other exposures
except those specified in the endorsement. Back to top
Animal Contests or Activities (FL0440)
This endorsement is used to extend the policy to provide coverage for
liability or medical payments that results from the use of any animal
used in racing, speed, strength or prearranged stunting activities. Back to top
Auto Exclusion Modified - Racing
This endorsement is used to extend the General Liability policy to
cover loss or injury resulting from vehicles participating in racing
events while on your premises. This is needed since standard
policies exclude coverage for these activities. Back to top
Automatic Add'l. Insureds Used
This endorsement is used to modify the Liability policy to include
automatic coverage for any entity for which you are required to
provide such coverage in a written contract. Normally, such
additions must be individually requested for coverage to apply. Back to top
Broadened Named Insured Used
This endorsement is used to extend specified policies to provide
automatic coverage for any organizations in which you currently own
50 percent or more interest in or will create or acquire during the
policy year. Normally, such unnamed entities must be reported to your
carrier for coverage to apply. Back to top
Care, Custody and Control Exclusion Modified
The standard General Liability policy excludes or limits coverage for
personal property of others in the care, custody or control of the
named insured. This endorsement deletes or severely limits the
application of this exclusion as it applies to such property. Back to top
Comp/Ops Exclusion Modified
The standard General Liability policy excludes coverage for property
damage to work performed by you. This endorsement is used to
restrict the application of this exclusion as specified in the
endorsement. Back to top
Employment Practices Coverage
This coverage is used to provide protection against lawsuits by
employees alleging wrongful discharge, discrimination, harassment or
other specified employment related exposures. Back to top
Ext. Personal Injury Coverage
This endorsement is used to extend your personal injury liability
coverage to insure against loss from several exposures not currently
covered under your present policy. Back to top
Extended Broad Form PD Coverage
This coverage is used to provide very broad property damage liability
protection by modifying several of the exclusions found in most
standard General Liability policies. Exclusions dealing with care,
custody and control, workmanship, and defective product can be
modified or eliminated altogether to provide broader coverage for
your operations. Back to top
Extended Contractual Coverage (Railroads) (CG2417)
This endorsement is used to extend your General Liability coverage to
provide protection for liability you may assume under a hold harmless
agreement of a contract in connection with work you do for a railroad
or around their property. Back to top
Failure To Supply Excl. (CG2250)
This endorsement is used to exclude coverage for any claim or suit
arising out of your failure to supply gas, oil, water, electricity or
steam. However, it does not apply if such failure is due to sudden or
accidental injury to the property used to supply such services. Back to top
Fellow Employee Excl. Deleted
This endorsement is used to extend your Liability protection to
insure against claims filed by one employee against another for
alleged negligent acts. This exposure is excluded in your standard
policy since it is intended for this type of claim to be insured
under your Worker's Compensation coverage. Generally, states allow
employees the right to not only claim compensation, but also maintain
their right to sue third parties for damage. Unfortunately, in many
states there is no clear definition of what is a third party and
therefore, a suit could potentially be brought against an employee as
a third party. Back to top
Fellow Member/Volunteer Exclusion Deleted
This coverage is used to extend your Liability insurance to protect
against claims filed by one volunteer or member against another
volunteer or member for alleged negligent acts. This endorsement is
needed because most standard General Liability policies exclude
coverage for claims of this nature. Back to top
GL Exclusions Reviewed
This endorsement is used to amend the Liability policy to eliminate
coverage for those designated entities or activities as listed on the
form. Please note, this uninsured exposure does not affect your
coverage for any other entity or activity you may be involved with. Back to top
Good Samaritian Malpractice
This endorsement is used to extend the Incidental Medical Malpractice
section of your policy to cover fire fighters/EMTs on a 24-hour
basis, whether on active duty or engaged in off duty activities. This
is needed since, normally, malpractice insurance covers individuals
while acting in the scope of their responsibility and may be
construed to mean coverage is available only while they are on active
duty. Back to top
Home Day Care Coverage (FL0442)
This endorsement is used to extend the Farm/Ranch policy to include
coverage for home day care services that are conducted at scheduled
locations. Back to top
In Rem Coverage Added
Under admiralty law, an occurrence that takes place on board a vessel
can give rise to an action against the ship as well as the owner.
With standard liability coverage, the vessel would not be covered and
may be impounded. This endorsement is used to extend the Liability
policy to include coverage for specified vessels with the same
protection as is provided for the vessel owner. Back to top
Intercompany Products (CG2141)
This endorsement is used to modify the Liability policy so that
coverage is not provided when a named insured brings a suit against
another named insured for defective products. When attached, that
portion of gross sales which represents the intercompany transaction
is excluded from the products-completed operations premium base.
This can result in a substantial savings for you. Back to top
Labor Reimbursement Coverage
This coverage pays up to the amount specified for labor charges
incurred by you in connection with the repair or replacement of a
defective product. Note, a product is considered defective only when
a manufacturer first declares it as defective. Back to top
Leased Workers Coverage (CG0424)
This endorsement is used to extend your General Liability policy to
include coverage for claims arising from individuals who have
sustained injury while working for you as a leased worker. Back to top
Lost Key Coverage
This coverage is used to pay for the costs to replace or rekey locks,
up to the amount specified in this endorsement, that is caused by the
loss of a key or keys by you or your employees. Back to top
Medical Payments Restricted
This endorsement is used to amend the Liability policy to eliminate
medical payments coverage for those designated individuals as listed
on this endorsement. This uninsured exposure does not affect your
coverage for any other person or activity you may be involved with. Back to top
Molestation Coverage Exclusion
This endorsement is used to restrict the Liability policy by
excluding coverage for actual or threatened abuse or molestation of
any person while in the care, custody or control of you or your
employees. Back to top
Non-Farming Extension Endorsement (FL0477)
This endorsement is used to extend your Farm/Ranch policy to include
coverage for activities of a non-farming or ranching nature. Back to top
Objects of Others Covered
This endorsement will extend the Liability policy to include coverage
for objects of others while in your control. It is used when you
allow local artists to exhibit their work in your establishment(s). Back to top
Off Premises Parking Coverage
Standard General Liability policies will only cover the parking of
autos that are owned by others when it is done at, or next to, your
covered premises. This endorsement extends this coverage to provide
primary liability protection for off site parking that may be done in
conjunction with your business. Back to top
Personal Injury Contractual Exclusion Deleted (CG2274)
This endorsement is used to eliminate the contractual liability
exclusion found in the personal injury section of the Liability
coverage. This modification is important since you provide services
under contract or assume liability under contract where the perils of
personal injury (libel, slander, wrongful arrest or eviction or
malicious prosecution) can be a source of claims against you. Back to top
Pesticide or Herbicide Applicator Coverage (CG2264, CG2812)
This endorsement is used to modify the pollution exclusion in your
General Liability policy to permit the application of pesticides and
herbicides at job sites. Please note that this pollution "buy-back"
applies only if operations conduct by you or your subcontractors are
in compliance with all government standards and regulations. Back to top
Principals Protective Added (CG2807)
This coverage is used to insure against claims arising out of
activities of any independent contractor, or of any employee of any
independent contractor, while engaged in operations for you. Back to top
Products Exclusion Modified
The General Liability policy excludes coverage for property damage to
products manufactured, sold, handled, distributed or disposed of by
you. This endorsement is used to restrict or eliminate the
application of this exclusion as specified in the form. Back to top
Products Hazard Redefined
This endorsement is used to extend the policy to include coverage for
loss occurring after your product has been relinquished to others. It
is needed since standard products liability does not protect you
unless the resulting damage or injury occurs away from the premises. Back to top
Products Recall Coverage
This insurance is used to provide coverage for specified costs
associated with the recall, withdrawal, disposal, repair, replacement
or adjustment of your product or work because of its defect or
deficiency. Standard Liability policies normally exclude coverage
for claims of this nature. Back to top
Property Damage Theft Coverage
This endorsement is used to modify the standard definition of
property damage to cover claims resulting from the theft or
disappearance of property of others while in your care, custody or
control. This is needed because standard Liability policies do not
cover such losses. Back to top
Punitive Damage Coverage Incl.
Liability coverage can be written to include protection for claims
arising out of punitive damage awards. This is important since many
state statutes today make punitive damage a very real hazard. Back to top
Real Property of Others Exclusion Deleted
This endorsement is used to eliminate the real property of others
exclusion as it applies to the premises/operations coverage of the
General Liability policy. This modification is important because
standard policies exclude coverage for damage to that particular part
of another's real property that is in your care or upon which you are
performing operations. For example, a firm who performs a service on
the premises of another, (caterers, repairmen, cleaners), can have a
considerable amount of real property under their control. Back to top
Reinstatement of Aggr. Limits
When used, this endorsement provides that aggregate limits reduced by
claims that occur during the policy period will be reinstated, to
ensure that existing limits of liability are maintained. This is
important because it is possible to find your aggregate limits
substantially reduced after a claim, leaving you with inadequate
limits for the rest of the policy period. Back to top
Repossession Liability Added
This coverage is used to extend the Liability policy to include
protection for claims arising from the repossession of watercraft,
aircraft, or other personal property items. This is important since
this activity can pose a real threat of lawsuit if improper
abstraction occurs. Back to top
Restricted Immunity Defense (CG2414)
When added, this endorsement amends the General Liability policy so
that the existing statutory immunity enjoyed by your governmental
entity will not apply unless requested by you. This can be important
in some situations where you, as a public entity, may wish to waive
this immunity on a case by case basis. Back to top
Review For CGL/E&O Coverage Gaps
As part of your risk management program we have reviewed both your
General Liability and Professional Liability policies to make certain
that no activities you do will lead to any uninsured losses. Back to top
Voluntary Property Damage
This coverage is used to extend your General Liability policy to
afford protection for damage to property of others when caused by you
while in your care, custody or control. Coverage is provided up to
the amount specified in the endorsement and can apply regardless of
your legal liability provided the damage was not intentional. Back to top
Watercraft Liability (CG2412)
This endorsement is used to extend your CGL policy to insure against
claims resulting from the use of watercraft scheduled on this form.
It is necessary because standard liability forms do not cover the use
of owned watercraft while on the water. Back to top
Workmanship Exclusion Modified (Premises/Operations)
This endorsement is used to eliminate the workmanship exclusion as it
applies to the premises/operations part of your General Liability
policy. It is needed because standard liability forms exclude
coverage for that particular part of any property that must be
restored, repaired or replaced because your work (or work performed
on your behalf) was incorrectly performed on it. Back to top
